Photography Unpacked exists to help readers make better photographic decisions. These standards govern every article we publish.

Evidence and sources

Technical and factual claims should be traceable to accessible sources. Sources are listed in the article when they materially support the guidance. We distinguish sourced facts from editorial framing and practical judgment.

Reader-first review

Articles are reviewed first for clarity, usefulness, structure, and audience fit, then separately for factual integrity and source support. Both reviews are tied to the exact accepted draft.

AI-assisted production

AI tools may assist with research organization, angle development, drafting, or quality checks. They do not approve their own work or publish articles. A human controls editorial acceptance and final publication.

Experience and reviews

We do not imply that an author owns or has personally tested equipment unless that experience is explicitly documented. Researched explainers, comparisons, first impressions, and hands-on reviews are labeled according to the evidence actually available.

Corrections

Material errors are corrected transparently. When a correction changes a reader’s understanding or recommendation, a dated correction note is added to the affected article. A public correction-submission channel will be added after launch.

Publication responsibility
